Jerusem progress-sharing policy
Updated 24 October 2026
Your chapter completion and your qualifying reading time are two different things. Exploring Jerusem can support your studies, but finishing a chapter is not proof of time spent reading.
Chapter marks: receiver ready. FreeUrantia now has a secure receiver for approved chapter marks from Jerusem.org — sending can begin as soon as Jerusem's side is switched on. Each mark appears on your My progress page under "Jerusem chapter sharing", stored separately from counted reading time. A mark never creates reading hours, Progress Points or qualification. Reading time from Jerusem is not accepted and still requires the safeguards below.
Chapter marks never count as qualifying hours
Chapter or completion marks on either site show completion only. They must never create reading minutes, Progress Points or Great Pearl qualification. Completion sharing is displayed separately from counted reading time on My progress.
Great Pearl’s existing rules stay unchanged
- At least 1,000 counted hours of signed-in reading and 36 months of membership are required.
- Your own reading counts at most one hour per day. A future connection must share that same daily limit across both sites—not give a separate allowance on each site.
- The counted reading minutes of up to 10 invited friends add to your hours, from their first counted minute. Each friend keeps their own progress too.
- You cannot invite the person who invited you. Invitations and shared reading never shorten the 36-month requirement.
- Printed books remain subject to available resources and languages. Qualification is not a promise of an immediate gift.
Before any reading-time sharing can begin
- A secure, verified connection. Both sites must verify the link between your accounts. Reading records must be verified between the sites’ servers; browser-reported time or chapter marks alone are not acceptable evidence. Duplicate records and overlapping reading sessions must not earn extra time.
- FreeUrantia’s approval. FreeUrantia must approve and implement how Jerusem time is verified, counted, capped and displayed before any of it qualifies.
- Your explicit choice. You must actively approve connecting your accounts. Before you agree, you must see exactly what will be shared, why it is shared, and how it affects your Great Pearl progress. Chapter sharing and reading-time sharing must be explained separately.
Your data and your control
- Sharing is optional. You can keep reading and using Great Pearl without connecting to Jerusem.
- Time saved only on your own device — for example by a study timer running in your browser — is personal study information. It stays on your device and does not count toward Great Pearl.
- Counting can start only after approval and consent. Nothing from before consent will be added retroactively.
- Only the minimum agreed information is shared: a verified account link and counted reading minutes, plus chapter or paper references only if you separately agree to share them. Passwords are never shared.
- You must be able to disconnect at any time. Withdrawal stops future sharing and counting immediately.
- If enabled in the future, My progress must identify the source of counted time and keep chapter completion clearly separate.
Until these safeguards are implemented on both sites, Jerusem activity must not be presented as earning a free Urantia Book.
